Peak Performance Physiotherapy Ltd and the Horsepower Physio Club are both ran by Chartered Physiotherapist and ACPAT Veterinary Physiotherapist Rebecca Douglas.

Peak Performance Physiotherapy Ltd and the Horsepower Physio Club operate in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and therefore all your data is private and treated with the correct security and confidentiality. Your data is held for the purposes of booking appointments, record keeping, email marketing where consent has been obtained and to inform you of future appointments, courses etc where appropriate. Your data consists of your name, address, email address, telephone number if provided and any details that you provide such as subjective information for a physiotherapy appointment. In case of physiotherapy appointments information may be obtained/ provided from paraprofessionals like veterinarians and insurers which will support the assessment and treatment planning of such cases.

As Veterinary physiotherapists we work under vet referral by law in cases where a diagnosis or investigation has already started or is in process. In these cases the physiotherapy records are shared with your vet to keep them informed on your horses progress. Also in cases where a routine physiotherapy check reveals an issue that needs investigating such as lameness then your notes will also be shared with your vet and referred to them for recommended investigation. We may also share personal data with other paraprofessionals such as saddle fitters, farriers, however this will only be shared through your given consent. Data will never be shared without your prior consent unless we are under legal obligation to comply to sharing of some information on the animals medical record/notes such as insurance companies but you would always be informed prior to this.

We are lawfully required to keep veterinary physiotherapy records and treatment notes for 8 years from last treatment, these can be paper or electronic based. As of 2018 all physiotherapy records are kept electronically. Electronic records and data are stored securely and can only be accessed by myself Rebecca Douglas, owner of both Peak performance Physiotherapy Ltd and the Horsepower Physio Club. This information is for our own use only. Once a period of 8 years have been reached all information and records kept are archived and deleted from the database.

Through agreeing to the privacy policy through confirmation of appointment, purchasing a course or downloading a freebie you agree to the processing of personal data. However, you can withdraw consent at any point via email to [email protected]. You have the right to opt out of any promotional email schemes at any point. Ask that we correct or update any personal information that is incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Ask that we erase your personal data from our systems. Ask that we stop processing your data or restrict processing of personal information in certain circumstances. Right to access personal information we hold about you. Request that any data provided by you in the context of actively consenting to some form of processing, be returned to you or transferred to another company in electronic form. Right to lodge a complaint with the information commissioners office (ICO) in the UK – please see below for further information.

If you would like to access your personal data then formal identification will need to be shown. This can be through the use of passport, driving license and a utility bill not older than three months. Please contact to request this.
